With a relatively short but notably wide body, FJ's stance is as stable in execution as it is powerful in expression. Short overhangs—front and rear—provide exceptional approach, departure and breakover angles. And, with the bulk of weight firmly between the front and rear axles, FJ is extremely adept at navigating tight spots and even tighter corners.
FJ rides on the same platform as Toyota's world-renowned Landcruiser Prado (4Runner). Modified to add 210 mm to its length, the platform features a tough, fully-boxed frame with seven cross-members, full underbody protective coating, and solid skid armor in all the right places.
FJ pays homage to its legendary namesake with a series of styling cues unique to the original, including: round headlamps; elongated grille with "Toyota" badging; near upright windscreen; white cap; and wrap-around tail lamps.
FJ features a two-part Rear Hatch with a Bumper Step. The Hatch opens wide and includes a Gas Strut Damper to keep the door open for convenient loading and unloading. Or, use the Flip-up Glass feature to load and unload smaller or longer items.
FJ's front windscreen features Three Wiper Blades for full coverage of FJ's broad glass shield. The Rear Wiper is retractable to allow the Rear Hatch Glass to open and close-and includes a Washer function to keep the mud at bay.
FJ's Rear Access Doors open wide—almost 90°—for easy entry and exit or loading and unloading.
FJ sports standard Front and Rear Tow Hooks to help out when the going gets really tough. There's also a standard 4-Pin Trailer Wire Harness and 5000 pound towing capacity. The Offroad Package adds a Roof Rack for handling cargo up top.
