Hold your place. All seating positions feature 3 point lap and shoulder belts. Front seats also boast seatbelt pre tensioners and force limiters.
RAV4 has safety top of mind, with 8 airbags including driver and front passenger SRS airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags, front and rear roll sensing head/side curtain airbags, driver knee airbag and passenger seat cushion airbag.
†† Do not rely exclusively on the Blind Spot Monitor system to determine if a lane change is safe. Always look over your shoulder and use your turn signal before changing lanes. There are several limitations to the function, detection, range and clarity of the monitor. For a complete list of limitations and directions regarding use of the monitor system, please see your Owner’s Manual.
** Do not rely exclusively on the Rear Cross‑Traffic Alert System. There are limitations to the function, detection and range of the system. You should also look around outside your vehicle, over your shoulder and use your mirrors to confirm rearward clearance. For a complete list of limitations and directions, please see your Owner’s Manual.
Technology Package: Blind Spot Monitoring System (BSM) ‡
BSM alerts you if a vehicle is in your side or rear blind spot. The system detects vehicles in adjacent lanes and, when the turn signal is on, alerts you with a light in the appropriate side mirror.
‡ Do not rely exclusively on the Blind Spot Monitor to determine if a lane change is safe. Always look over your shoulder and use your turn signal. There are several limitations to the function, detection, range, and clarity of the system. For a complete list of limitations, see Owner’s Manual.
When reversing, the RCTA will alert you with an audible warning and blind spot indicator on the outer mirrors if the system judges that an object (e.g., vehicle or person) may intersect with your vehicle's path.
‡ Do not rely exclusively on the Rear Cross-Traffic Alert system. Always look over your shoulder and use your mirrors to confirm clearance. There are limitations to the function, detection, range, and clarity of the system. To learn more, see Owner’s Manual.
LDA helps determine if the vehicle is unintentionally leaving its lane, and then issues an audible warning to let you know.
‡ Lane Departure Alert is designed to read the lane markers of certain roads and provide an auditory alert. It is not a collision-avoidance system and is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving. System effectiveness depends on many factors. See Owner’s manual for further information.
The Automatic High Beam features automatically switches between high beams and low beams in response to oncoming vehicle headlights or preceding vehicle taillights.
‡ Conditions such as a dirty windshield, rapidly changing light conditions, or hilly terrain will limit effectiveness. So, the driver may need to manually change the high beams from on to off. See Owner’s Manual for details.
