  • Special Edition available in exclusive Plasma Orange

  • Now on sale with starting MSRP of $58,010

TORONTO, Ontario (July 13th, 2023) – The Toyota GR Supra traces its heritage back to the Celica Supra of 1979 and over the past four and a half decades it became a name associated with legendary sports performance. To celebrate, Toyota is offering Canadians a limited production Toyota GR Supra 45th Anniversary Special Edition – one of four exhilarating GR Supra models in the 2024 lineup.

“The GR Supra is a masterpiece of design and a marvel of engineering – packed with features that scream performance that make it worthy of Toyota’s ‘Gazoo Racing’ GR name,” said Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Toyota Canada Inc. “As we celebrate 45 years of this badge’s legendary track record for exciting times behind the wheel, on and off the track, we’re thrilled to offer a limited production GR Supra in an exclusive Plasma Orange colour scheme.”

Under the hood, the GR Supra is offered with a choice of two engine sizes and two transmissions – detailed by model, below. All GR Supra models have been carefully engineered to achieve a nearly perfect weight balance and low centre of gravity to optimize handling. Variable ratio electric power steering is sport tuned to deliver track-worthy control, while engaging Sport Mode sharpens throttle response, makes shifts crisper, and tunes the differential more aggressively.

The GR Supra wears its performance capabilities boldly. The GR Supra body is shaped for dramatic effect and honed for aerodynamic perfection. Its signature looks include a wide grille flanked by large air intakes, a double-bubble cabin roof that reduces drag without sacrificing headroom, and six-lens LED headlights that integrate daytime running lights and turn signals to create a distinctive lighting signature. Rain-sensing wipers and auto leveling headlamps help keep the view ahead clear, while dual rear exhaust outlets with brushed stainless steel tips provide a suitable “so long” to those left in the power adjustable and heated rear view mirrors. The 2024 GR Supra comes in seven body colours, with selection dependent on model: Absolute Zero, Nocturnal, Renaissance Red 2.0, Burnout, Stratosphere, CU Later, and Plasma Orange.

Inside, this two-seater is definitely driver-focussed, with an asymmetrical centre console that envelopes the cockpit, complete with console-mounted side knee padding for extra bolstering when leaning into high-G corners. All models feature the Toyota Smart Key System with Push Button Start, heated seats, dual zone automatic climate control, aluminum scuff plates, and carbon fibre interior trim. The instrument cluster is anchored by a 3D tachometer flanked by displays that can be customized to show key driving information, navigation, or entertainment choices. While capturing the feel of a single-seat racing car, GR Supra also ensures the navigator enjoys an open, comfortable ride.

Every GR Supra also comes with an impressive package of active and passive safety features – including a Lane Departure Warning with Steering Assist, full-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection. Other safety features include a backup camera, automatic high beams, eight airbags, a child seat restraint system on the passenger seat, and an anti-theft alarm system.

Toyota Canada offers the 2024 GR Supra in four models, as follows:

The 2024 Toyota GR Supra 2.0 introduces Canadians to Toyota’s authentic sports coupe experience. Under the hood, a 2.0L twin scroll turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine and eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, launch control, and manual mode delivers 255 peak horsepower and up to 295 lb-ft of torque. Notable features on this model include an 8.8” touchscreen, digital gauge cluster, four-speaker audio system with USB audio input, 18” alloy wheels, Alcantara upholstery, full LED headlight package, adaptive steering, and parking sensors.

The 2024 Toyota GR Supra 3.0 Premium AT boosts performance to maximum thrill levels. This model’s track-bred 3.0L twin-scroll turbocharged inline 6-cylinder engine puts 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque at the driver’s command. The transmission is equally impressive: A quick-shifting eight-speed automatic with transmission cooler, paddle shifters, launch control function, and manual mode, capable of rocketing the GR Supra from 0-100 kph in 4.1 seconds. This model then builds on the feature set offered on the 2.0L GR Supra, introducing several upgrades. These include a head-up display, Hairpin+ Function for remarkable performance on tight curves, adaptive suspension system, active rear sport differential, front strut bracing, 4-piston Brembo brakes with red painted and SUPRA logo calipers on the front wheels, 12-speaker JBL Audio System with integrated Sirius XM Satellite Radio, Navigation with Supra Connect (including SOS, Emergency Call, and Stolen Vehicle Recovery functions), Wireless Apple CarPlay, a wireless charger for personal electronics, 14-way power adjustable seats with leather upholstery and a driver’s seat memory system, 19” forged alloy wheels, and a sport exhaust.

The 2024 Toyota GR Supra 3.0 Premium MT offers the same feature set as the automatic edition, but with a six-speed intelligent manual transmission with shift lever in a leather boot. This gearbox has been tuned specifically to the GR Supra’s 3.0L inline-6, and fitted with a large diameter clutch with a reinforced diaphragm spring to ensure it squeezes the most out of the engine. This model also features red sport pedals.

The 2024 Toyota GR Supra 3.0 45th Anniversary Special Edition is a limited production model celebrating the Supra legacy. Starting with the 3.0L manual transmission model, Toyota designers then added a unique black leather interior, manually adjustable rear spoiler, 19” wheels with an exclusive matte black finish, black brake calipers, orange strut tower braces, orange SUPRA badge, and a serialization plaque. The model is finished in a stunning, exclusive Plasma Orange paint with black exterior side graphics.
