As wireless technology continues to evolve, telecommunications providers in Canada are making significant changes to their legacy communications infrastructures and network capabilities. As part of this process, these third-party providers have elected to start to discontinue the provision of 3G wireless services. This means that devices and services that currently require 3G wireless networks to function, including hardware installed in motor vehicles, will no longer work in certain areas beginning December 31, 2025.
This discontinuance of 3G wireless network services is occurring in phases. Bell and Telus have announced they will begin by discontinuing 3G wireless network services in Manitoba by December 31, 2025. Visit the Bell website or the Telus website for more information on the status of their 3G network.
Telecommunications providers are discontinuing 3G services in favor of newer and more advanced LTE networks. Although these circumstances were created by factors beyond our control, we sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause.
3G wireless network discontinuance is controlled by telecommunications providers. Although we will endeavor to notify users, we do not control the timing of discontinuance. Visit the Bell website or the Telus website for more information on the status of their 3G network.
