So, we’re off to a good start on those Tacoma Advantages, but here’s something that you may not have considered: Every 2018 Tacoma is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense P. Along with the other TSS features – Automatic High Beams, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Departure Alert, Tacoma also features our Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Alert – to help protect you, and others around you. These features are not standard on Colorado or Canyon.
Tacoma has a 3.5L V6 Direct-Injection 4-Stroke Engine – technology that optimizes power and efficiency, delivering 278 horsepower with a 13.1 L/100km Fuel Efficiency Rating in the City - better than Canyon & Colorado’s 14.1 L/100 km Rating.
Also, did you know that Tacoma offers a 4x4 Pick-up Truck with a Manual Transmission? In fact, with the MT, the Tacoma 4x4 comes in your choice of Off-Road, Sport and TRD PRO grades. Canyon and Colorado offer a Manual only on some 4x2 models.
When you’re ready to hit the trail, the Tacoma 4x4 Double Cab V6 is ready and willing. The Off-Road package comes standard – and if you’re serious about off-roading, this is the truck for you. It’s got Leaf Springs in the Rear, Bilstein Shocks Front and Rear, One-Touch 4WD, an Automatic Limited Slip Differential and Locking Rear Diff, 4-Wheel Crawl Control, Multi-Terrain Select, Skid Plates, 16” All Terrain Tires, and an Approach Angle of 32.1 degrees and Departure of 23.5.
And it’s even got a mount for your GoPro, so you can capture those unbelievable adventures and share them with your friends.
So… getting back to those competitors… yes, you can take them off-road, too, but just keep in mind that you may be able to go further with Tacoma’s 238 mm ground clearance – vs. Colorado and Canyon’s 208.28.
Tacoma’s 5-foot Short Box has a composite bed that protects from scratches, dings and corrosion when you’re hauling payload. Competitive vehicle owners pay hundreds of dollars to have bed liners added, just for that protection. And Tacoma has Cargo bed tie downs and 4 Tie Down Cleats standard – they’re optional on the Competitors. Oh, and it even has a 120V Power Outlet in the bed, which the Competitors don’t.
Like the competitors, you can access the bed conveniently via Tacoma’s Easy Lower Tailgate, stepping up on the Rear Bumper Step. Lock up the tailgate for additional security, or remove it entirely.
And only Tacoma comes standard with a standard Towing setup – a Class IV Weight Distribution Hitch and a 7-pin Trailer Wire Harness – so you’re set for towing up to 2,900 kg (6,400 lbs). On Canyon & Colorado, you can add the Trailering Package for an additional charge.
